FAQ
What type of equipment do you use?
We pride ourselves on having the very best and most authentic DJ equipment. Jon is passionate about giving you an energetic, inspired event and does not believe in DJing using "DJ emulation hardware/software" and clicking a playlist. Instead, at the heart of our setup are real vinyl turntables powered by Serato Scratch Live. This is the same hardware and software used by the very best professional DJs including the late DJ AM, ?uestlove (The Roots/Jimmy Fallon's house band), DJ Jam (Snoop, Dr. Dre), DJ Jazzy Jeff, Sasha, Prince Paul, Rob Swift, DJ Spinbad, Diplo, and many more. Scratch Live is the only digital DJ system that stays true to the art of DJing, allowing Jon, not a computer program, to control the music at all times. This gives your affair a custom, totally live mixed soundtrack that keeps the dance floor moving.
We are into [insert genre here] music, but don’t know how it will work at a wedding. Can you help?
That’s what we’re all about. We want your personality to come through, most importantly. We’ll help you stay true to your musical identity while ensuring all the guests have a great time.
Can you provide the music to the ceremony?
We'd love to, but only if the ceremony is held at the same site as the reception.
How far will you travel to perform at an event?
We will travel up to 60 miles from the Trenton area without adding travel costs. Any farther than that and we ask for $0.50 per mile to and from the event.
Are there any breaks in the music at our event?
No. Another advantage of working as a team is the ability to maintain a seamless wall of sound from the first guest's arrival to the last dance of the night. We have multiple setups and can provide music in up to four different areas to accommodate the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner hour, and dancing portion of the evening without a second of silence.
Do you perform at non-traditional events?
Absolutely. We have and will continue to perform at all sorts of non-traditional events including, but not limited to same-sex weddings, commitment and civil union ceremonies.
Do you need to be provided with a meal?
No, we don't ask to be fed. Jon and Tom are both married and know that costs per head can add up. Spend that extra cash on a fancy dessert option or to invite that old friend that didn't make it through the second round of guest list cuts.
What do you wear to events?
We dress as the guests would. This is usually tailored black suits, white shirts, and ties.
Can we see you perform at an event?
Out of respect to all parties involved, including you, we do not invite potential clients to wedding events. You wouldn't want strangers ogling your DJ or sneaking samples of your food, right? We are very confident in our ability to convey our services to you and would love the opportunity to talk face-to-face. However, if a public event does arise, we try to let all potential clients know as soon as possible.
Do you do perform at events other than weddings?
Approximately 95% of our calendar is booked with weddings and related affairs, but we are available for exclusive private parties and will occasionally appear at club events.
